ConvertKit is a marketing automation tool that enables you to grow and interact with your audience through email. In this ConvertKit review, we’ll show you the benefits, pricing, integrations and our thoughts on the tool.
Before we begin, I want to clear the air a bit. Some might say email is dead. I totally disagree. I think that there’s still a lot of opportunity if done in a strategic way. ConvertKit helps you execute on the strategy in a simple, logical way.
I want to let the readers know that I do use ConvertKit on this site. And, I have used other tools such as Marketo, Pardot, Constant Contact, Aweber, Infusionsoft and Mail Chimp in the past so I do have context when it comes to various marketing automation/email programs.
Originally built for bloggers, ConvertKit has really morphed into a slick platform for online creators. Let’s get into why…
Pros of ConvertKit
Ease of Use
ConvertKit does most things very well from a user standpoint. I think the ease of use is the most attractive feature. If you’re just starting out in the digital marketing game, it can be a learning curve to understand and set up automatic workflows with confidence. ConvertKit is designed to navigate you through it with an intuitive design and process flow.
After signing up, ConvertKit will walk you through tutorials to create autoresponders, forms, sequences and more.
Attractive Design Features
A digital marketing pet peeve of mine is when something so useful looks so outdated. Not here. ConvertKit’s back-end and front-end (forms and emails) are well thought through in regards to the design and customizability. You can create a seamless look between your site and its digital assets.
Tagging Subscribers Based on Behaviors
Applying tags is a great way to organize individuals in your email list so you can setup rules to send automated emails.
Tagging subscriber’s based on behavior is a neat feature that will prove very useful. For example, you can tag a subscriber when her or she clicks on a link. Why is this important? Because, you can setup an automation schedule where if they click on email A then they’ll receive email B in a few days.
Marketing Automation: Visual Automations Builder
It’s pretty standard nowadays that there’s a marketing automation component to an email marketing tool but ConvertKit designed it with the end-user in mind.
ConvertKit’s visual workflow builder simply makes sense.
You’ll be able to create workflow on the basis of an event, action or condition.
I consider ConvertKit a very agile company and their support proves it. They are on the ball with their customer support team.
As I mentioned previously, on-boarding is very intuitive and easy. But, as always, you may have additional questions that pertains to you and the way you want to do things.
ConvertKit has an awesome collection of helpful documentation and a live chat feature that has a rather quick response rate.
Additionally, ConvertKit has built a great community of online creators. The Slack channel has over 5,000 registered users where you can “steal” great advice from other customers.
If you do your due diligence and compare the cost (I recommend thinking it as an investment), you’ll notice ConvertKit’s pricing is typically a little higher compared to some of its competitors. I think the reasons pointed out above justifies the cost difference.
Starting at $29/month, I think it’s well worth the the admission.
Here are is the pricing at the time of this post…
ConvertKit easily integrates with many of the leading 3rd party tools on the market today.
Some of the integrations include:
- Gravity Forms
Also, through Zapier, you can integrate hundreds of other apps and resources.
Search the complete list on ConvertKit’s integration page.
Is ConvertKit Right For You?
If you are a serious blogger, teach online courses or provide a service/products online then you should really consider ConvertKit.
In summary, ConvertKit is easy to use, has visual automation workflows, great design features, tags contacts in multiple ways including behavior and more.
I think you’ll discover that as the market gets more sophisticated so will ConvertKit. They are an agile company that improves their software inline with industry changes.
ConvertKit has a 14 day trial so you can dig into it without committing to it. But, I think you’ll quickly learn that ConvertKit can be an extension of your overall digital marketing strategy.
Overall, this is a great email marketing automation software to improve your communication with your subscribers, prospects and customers.
